For the fifth year in succession, Dekmantel Festival will be held in Amsterdam running from the 2nd until the 6th of August.
The program bill features minimal genius Steve Reich, Brazilian legend Marcos Valle, a cooperation of giants by Jeff Mills and Tony Allen and a show by Arca and Jesse Kanda. The American roots of house and techno at the festival will be supervised by a live show by Larry Heard, Masters At Work, Joe Claussell, as well as a special Robert Hood set dedicated to his forthcoming Dekmantel LP. Also on the bill are Jon Hopkins, Floating Points (both live and DJ), Sun Ra Arkestra, British Murder Boys, Fatima Yamaha, and German EBM-pioneers D.A.F.
In the year where Dekmantel will celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Amsterdam stronghold will run a day longer and will now also include the Wednesday. Next to that, it doubles the amount of concerts on the Thursday in various locations around the IJ-river in 2016, proven to be a successful addition to the festival in 2016.
The Amsterdam festival has never before welcomed so many Dekmantel-debutants. Artists to play the festival for the first time include, amongst others, Beatrice Dillon, Vladimir Ivkovic, Marie Davidson, Dorian Concept, Shanti Celeste and Inga Mauer.
