Berlin label SPE:C is back this November with another wedge of no-frills, industrial techno. This time though, label head Darwin welcomes Edeka to the imprint with the 3-track EP ‘Preissenkung’.
SPE:C was first created in 2015, and since the inauguration with UK producer Decka’s Begyndelsen EP, the label put out another EP from Trans AM in 2016, which then debuted on Boiler Room. Canadian artist Darwin runs the label with a heavy measure of hammering, Berghain-style techno and sporadic, high-power dub, and she really nails the tough, analogue sound coming from a variety of mysterious new artists right now. Although somewhat elusive and unknown, Edeka’s already begun to make an impact in Berlin. With a tough sound already shaded with the authentic-Berlin serious style, he’s set to play the after-hours party for the Reef X Oscillator night at Griessmuehle on the date of the EP release.
