The Danish producer debuts on the label with Forever Mix, out May 24th
Kasper Marott will feature on the second release by Courtesy’s imprint Kulør, a label whose introduction to Copenhagen’s fast techno scene, Kulør 001, contributed a long-sought spin on contemporary techno. With his Forever Mix EP, Marott offers a 14-minute musical expedition through the slower-paced “Drømmen om Ø (Forever Mix ‘19)” and a personal take on his hometown’s accelerated blue euphoria with the floor-crushing “Sky Dreams”.
Quote from Courtesy: “I’ve been eager to work with Kasper Marott for a number of years and I’m so grateful that Kulør 002 will feature two stunning tracks of his. I’ve been a fan since Marott was a teenager. Across different tempos and genres, he always manages to make dance music with a singular, clear voice.
When I listen to the two tracks on Kasper’s record, I get this sense of being surrounded by wild birds, so in terms of artwork, we ended up looking for a photographer who could put a radical twist on wildlife and bird photography.
Our search lead us to the Japanese artist Yoshinori Mizutani, whose powerful photography will feature on the cover and poster for the release.”
Artwork photography is by the Japanese artist Yoshinori Mizutani, and the vinyl will come with an A2 poster. Graphic design is by Spine Studio.
About Kasper Marott:
Kasper Marott is a Danish producer, DJ and label owner. His 2018 track “Keflavik” was crowned “one of the biggest club records of the year” by Resident Advisor. He has an EP due to be released on his Axces label on 22 April 2019, and a second EP released on Courtesy’s new label project Kulør, available 24 May 2019.
Since his debut in 2014, the Red Bull Music Academy participant has also shown his talent as a DJ. His ear for the percussive aspects of contemporary dance music is of a rare kind, with DJ sets that slide easily between genres, moods and styles.
Together with close friend Alfredo92, Kasper launched the community-based label Axces earlier this year, focusing on music from a diverse network of artists in Copenhagen.
